The central objective of this project was to assess the collective response of different types of further education provider to key Government policy agendas and related targets, as evidenced in providers’ Development Plans.
The success of this 7 month project rested on the design of an appropriate sample of providers and a sufficiently detailed but flexible pro forma against which to analyse the Plans. In total, the project involved analysis of 305 such documents.
The research resulted in 6 separate reports – one covering the findings from all the providers in the sample and stand-alone reports for each of the 5 categories of provider. As well as offering an indication of progress made in relation to Government targets the reports all included detailed case studies of good /innovative practice.
The client found the level of detail included in the analysis and reporting, and the differentiation between types of providers, to have greatly added to the value of the research as outlined in the original specification.
