Bursary Scheme Success

In early 2005 a major national charity commissioned Pye Tait to undertake detailed feasibility work on the subject of a proposed bursary scheme. As developed, this highly innovative scheme is designed to part-fund upgrading education and training, work-placements and secondments for employees across the sector who have reached at least Level 3.

Over a period of three months, we carried out a UK-wide consultation, and were then asked to go on to develop a Heritage Lottery Fund Bid for a substantial amount of money to assist the charity and its partners to support the scheme. The bid was developed and submitted within a further two months.

At the end of 2005, the client was told that, not only had their bid been accepted, but that they had been awarded more funds than they had applied for.

The scheme, to be implemented over the next three years, will help individuals and organisations to enhance and expand vital heritage skills.
