Senior Research Executives are responsible for identifying and bidding for work and for carrying their own limited portfolio of project-work. They are expected to have an excellent grasp of the subject matter, good analytical skills, effective people skills, and a professional level of writing skills.
We recruit to this grade from experienced - usually doctoral standard - applicants who have good research experience, ideally in a commercial environment.
The job-role is designed to focus on improving and honing client-facing, business and writing skills; to develop the ability to construct innovative and successful tenders and to begin the development of a deep competence in project management. At this level a member of staff will be competent to design and implement all types of primary research including surveying, interviewing, Delphi and focus groups, workshops and seminars, presentations, etc.
It is taken for granted that SREs will be able to undertake all research and writing tasks and have a good level of competence in surveying and client facing work.
Depending on aptitude, a researcher may spend two to three years in this grade. Promotion from SRE is usually to Research Manager.
Senior Research Executive starting salaries are competitive and are dependent on experience and qualifications.
