Skills are difficult to define and even more difficult to quantify and analyse. Pye Tait has been involved in such work for a great many years. Within this we have also used national datasets to analyse skills shortages and regional and sectoral data to assess the severity of skills shortages and gaps.
Pye Tait has developed a variety of approaches to help companies predict future need. They do not rely on a single technique but encompass a variety of qualitative and statistical tools that can be used individually or combined to create detailed forecasts of need.
We have developed a tried and tested rigorous model for identifying individual skills levels - skills that can be traced back to National Occupational Standards (NOS). This includes asking companies to rate the level of skills and whether training is needed now and in the future to help our clients identify areas that need most attention to ensure the continued strength and growth of sectors. We can also use statistical analysis to predict the likely number of employees that may require training.
