Prophesying the Future

There are people who will tell you that it is not possible to see into the future. They are wrong.

Governments and large corporations spend tens of millions every year doing just that – and with significant success. There are highly sophisticated global systems in place – based on artificial intelligence algorithms – that spend every waking second gathering data for predictions. In the USA the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) operates a variety of projects designed to push the boundaries by anticipating the future. Among many other innovative techniques IARPA uses nominal groups and what it calls Open Source Indicators – both of which techniques we use for foresight work at Pye Tait Consulting.

For an individual, it may not be possible to know what is around the corner, but it is most definitely possible to get a good grasp of the future for industrial and commercial sectors and markets, and for entire technologies.

Why bother?

For the simple reason that it gives you a critical edge over your competitors and provides the most reliable directions to go in the years ahead.

Not just the next couple of years but the next five, ten or even fifteen years.

How are things going to change? What are going to be the coming things? What issues will need to be solved? Which paths will probably lead to dead-ends?

For obvious reasons our foresight clients like to keep their knowledge secret – if you’ve got an edge  you do not tell everyone. That’s why our foresight work is confidential. Our clients pay a lot of money for the insights and information and that investment must be made to work hard for them.

The Process

For obvious reasons the detailed method cannot be described on a website. Our proprietary, integrated, multi-level program has been designed by Pye Tait Consulting to help companies, public organisations, and professional bodies gain that vital edge. It’s based on a range of tools and methods and is bespoke to each client. It is completely confidential. The foresight you gain is yours alone. Nothing is published, we do not even mention you as a client.

It’s also modular – you can choose the variables you want to focus on. Recent clients have targeted specific aspects of technological change, political and economic developments, and even social and cultural impacts on specific sectors ad products/services.

We can’t say any more here but if you are interested in knowing what the future holds for your company, organisation or sector, get in touch.
